Physical properties are the same as those of NHS-dPEG4TM-biotin (Product No.10200). This compound is very hydrophilic both prior to and after labeling. Biotin is very available. Spacer length is optimal for rapid and tight avidin/streptavidin binding. Hydrophilic spacer arm eliminates or minimizes non-specific binding that causes aggregation and precipitation problems, which commonly occur when labeling antibodies and other biological materials. Hydrophilic dPEGTM spacer is non-immunogenic. Ultra high purity. |
Protocols
| Protocol of in situ activation: Use a 10-20% molar excess of EDC and NHS in dry methylene chloride (dries over 3Amolecular sieves). Add a methylene chloride solution of the acid to the dry reagents under the dry conditions. Stir for several hours or overnight, then evaporate the solvent and use. Can also treat reaction mixture with small amount of silica gel to adsord the excess EDC and the urea byproduct, filter, then evaporate the solvent and use. Note of Caution: The NHS should be added with the EDC to prevent the formation of the anhydride. |
